R I DIST - 3260
|
The birth of Rotaract in India was not too surprising, as the being
the land of service and sacrifice. Rotaract came into being in
Secunderabad, R. I. Dist. – 3250 on 2 nd April 1968. The formation
of Rotaract in our district was not too far, as the whole nation was
engulfed in the tempest of the Rotary and the Rotaract movement. The
district R. I. 3250 encompassed clubs in Burma, West Bengal, Sikkim,
Nepal & Assam, but later R. I. District 326 came into being with
Bihar, Orissa and Eastern part of Madhya Pradesh in its fold. Our
District suffered another bifurcation and was reduced only to Orissa
and Eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh, this was in the year
1984.
THE EXTENT OF RI DISTRICT 3260
RI District 3260 encompasses 600 kms from North to South and 700 kms
from East to West. It stretches through a vast expanse of history,
ancient culture, tribal art, modern development, and a rich heritage
of forests. The district comprises of the Eastern part of the State of
Madhya Pradesh and the States of Chhattisgarh and Orissa.
